I first heard about the Therapeutic Spiral decades ago when a colleague attended a workshop at an ASGPP conference led by this woman named Kate and her friend Mimi. They presented a thing called the TSIRA and used Barbie Dolls to illustrate the various roles. As my colleague explained what she had learned I began to see how this internal role map had significant application for the work we were doing in New Hampshire with adolescents, whether trauma survivors or not. I decided to learn more about this Therapeutic Spiral thing and the rest, as they say, as history.

In 2019 Cathy received the ASGPP’s J.L. Moreno Award for Lifetime Achievement. Our top-level adjunct faculty’s expert knowledge and skills are a perfect complement to LPTI’s training program.

Linda holds certifications in Psychodrama, Group Psychotherapy and Sociometry ; The Therapeutic Spiral Model (specifically for healing trauma) ; Souldrama for developing spiritual intelligence .She also conducts workshops to train teachers in using action methods in the classroom.

Notes from Cathy: Emerging from Covid Isolation into Healing Connection at the 2022 LPTI Psychodrama Intensive

Twelve participants joined guest trainer, Linda Ciotola, trained auxiliary ego, Will Halm, and me to co-create the LPTI Psychodrama Intensive, March 10-14. After having to cancel last year, the team was excited to be able to meet in person at Blue Mountain Retreat Center in Western Maryland. Our host, Blue Mountain proprietor, chef extraordinaire and massage therapist, Beth Ehrhardt, provided all the comforts of home and more–delicious, nutritious family-style meals, relaxing facilities and grounds, and on-request massage therapy sessions.
